Training
starts with a warm-up to prepare the body, by warming, stretching and
strengthening the muscles for the training session ahead.
The
instructor will lead students in practicing techniques appropriate to
their stage of training, which will include different stances, called
"Postures", and basic techniques including blocks and strikes using
legs and arms.
Students
get the opportunity to practice combinations of such techniques,
special set sequences of techniques, called "Kedh", and friendly and
controlled non-contact, exchanges of techniques between pairs of
students. This is referred to as "Compromise Freestyle".
More
advanced students will also practice advanced techniques and breaking
boards, and later building materials such as blocks and bricks.
