Ustad Martin Sharratt's Master Grade Presentation Ceremony, and Dinner. Those fortunate enough to get an invite to Martin's presentation, should enjoy the photos below as a reminder. Those who weren't there - well here's your chance to have a peek. There was quiet music, a lovely dinner, after dinner speeches, and a very moving ceremony, where 9 of the most senior members of the association each, in turn, lit a candle, and bowed with Martin, before Mr Dhaliwal presented Martin with his new Master Grade belt. The two current Master Grades, and Guru Dhaliwal, wore there ceremonial robes, and belts, for the occasion, and looked very splendid. The atmosphere for the occasion, in addition to the respectful hush that all maintained through-out, was provided by the sounding of a brass bowl, by Ustad Newton. The erie, humming sound brought a mystical feel to the occasion. Ustad Martin Sharratt achieves Master Grade Ranking Like many others Ustad Martin Sharratt had ‘dabbled’ in a variety of different Art Forms without finding satisfaction. Over thirty years ago, he attended a demonstration given by Master Dhaliwal and immediately decided that this was what he was looking for. Ustad Martin started his training at Master Dhaliwal’s first club in Derby. He was part of a 35 member strong class, which included Master Brindley and Ustad Bal Singh. Since that day Ustad Martin’s Life in the Art Form has been the stuff of legends.
