News and Events

Following the recent grading we now have a number of new belts. Two of our youngest members Chris, and Rees, gained their blue belts, and Erica, Astrid, and Brandon got green. Claire is our star of course with her new black belt, but we are equally proud of all our members who have put in the effort and progressed.

Friday 29th February saw the selection of six new 1st degree black-belts, and one of these was our very own Claire. Claire was presented with her belt on 5th April, at the Indoor Bowls Club, Browns Lane, Loughborough - Click here for pictures.

New Parks Club for Young People, where we train, has been fully modernised, and renovated, so that it is now one of the best Tetsudo venues in Leicestershire. A special open evening was held to commemorate the re-opening of the club, and New Parks Tetsudo club gave a demonstration, as part of that event. This was very well received by the audience and, if the applause is anything to go by, was the most popular event of the evening. Below are photos, and video clips, of the demonstration.

Claire, our Senior Brown Belt, and National Competition winner, performs Khed Shereva for an appreciative audience.

On the last session before Christmas we had a fun training session, and even had time for some mince pies and Christmas Cheer. Judging by the smiles everyone had a great time.

On 22nd August 2006, the club members all took part in a fund raising event for New Parks Youth Club, in which they each performed 1,000 Karate Kicks in a single session.

We raised £700 in sponsorship.
